Evaluation of our presentation for the Aviva company
Personally, I think I could of done much better, I didn't speak as much as I could of because my nerves got the better of me, making me collapse when the time came to present. Although in my mind I knew I could do it, but if I would of had a practice before hand, and with a few less people in front of me, because going from about 8 people to over 30 is a bit of a big jump for me, I'm not used to speaking to big crowds, but with more practice, slowly I will improve. But I hope that next time I will be better prepared, on the other hand, even though I was terrified I still forced myself to speak a little, but one of our team members, kept speaking for me, which put me off, but hopefully I will be better next time, more practice will help me. But overall, as a group, I think we did well, we pushed through our technical problems, the computer locked itself, and none of us are confident speakers, but we still forced oursevles to do it, so in some ways I am proud, but in other ways, I wish we pushed ourselves a bit harder. So next time we have to do this, I will make sure we practice and have a better chance of getting this right.

Evaluation
Our group as a whole, didn’t work out in
the beginning due to major idea differences, but we spilt into a smaller group
and from there on in, we made very good progress, apart from a few small
problems, like we didn’t understand how to make our end idea work, but we
tweaked it and make it work, but our end idea also worked very well for us, we
had a good idea to back it up with, we made a video that worked and we had good
character and story ideas, but our greatest strength was our team work, we
pulled everything together even when we spilt up we pulled together and got it
all done.
Game back story
Game story
One sunny afternoon, Baron Jingleton and
Lady Savingtons are going on a walk to the bank to go save some coins they got
to get a car to go on a trip together. But the Evil Count Poundula spots them
from his castle window and sees they are on another saving spree and is jealous
because he just can’t save, so he creates a plan to kidnap Lady Savingtons to
drain her saving abilities and use them for himself to make him the best saver
in the world. He quickly pulls out the lake drainer from his ‘failed evil
plans’ cupboard and begins to tweak it with speed and precision and soon has it
working as a skill drainer and sets off to go steal Lady Savingtons. He flies
out of his living room window towards the unsuspecting couple and just as they
are about to enter the bank but he suddenly grabs the Lady and carries her off
back to his hidden super top secret dungeon in the cave which has a sign saying
‘super top secret hidden dungeon this way’ and locks her away in a vortex
controlled by the draining device. But to the Count’s dismay, the draining
device has very little power so it will take a very long time to get even a
little of her skill. But the poor lonely Baron is left to go save his Lady and
restore the saving balance to the world. But to make sure the Baron doesn’t get
to her, the Count uses his ‘evil ray’ to make everything evil and on his side
just to keep him away.
Baron Jingleton’s attacks-
Coin cannon- shoots a giant coin that rolls
along the screen trampling everything
Saving lascannon- shoots a rainbow laser of
saving power, which fries everything that is in its path
Golden blast- shoots a ball of pure golden
bubble that explodes when it comes into contact with enemies
Spin attack- spin yourself into enemies
Jump attack- jump on top of enemies
Ground slam- Jump and crush enemies
You gain a life with every 100 coins, you
start with 5 and every time you loose all your lives and have to restart the
game you loose 150 coins of your savings.
World one- (Needs the amount of coins you
start with 50) World one is based in sunny little town with a lot trees and
colourful buildings, the main enemies are buildings and trees that have come to
life, biting dogs and elderly coins with purses spinning like a spinning top.
There a ten levels to each world with a boss at the end, the main boss to world
one is a huge eight eyed building, with sharp teeth and a spiky ‘drain pipe’
tail that shoots bricks and furniture at you, called Brickzilla with a
substantial amount of health.
World two- (requires a total of 150 saved
coins) World two is a big city with black smoke clouds that drain your health
and make your attacks weaker, chimneys shoot fireballs, and there are cannibal
cars and street cleaners too, the main boss at the end of this level is a snake
like chimney that sends out shock waves, fire walls and fire bombs that explode
into smaller ones after the initial explosion, its health is also high, it is
called Flamecrawler.
World three- (requires a total of 400 saved
coins) World three is a jungle like series of fields, each field gets more and
more overgrown, the grass traps and squeezes you draining your health,
poisonous plants bite and inject venom slowly draining your health for a
certain amount of time, trees also fall and the apples are actually bat type
creatures that fly at you and attack you, the main boss for this is a huge
apple bat that sends out swarms of smaller ones, falling trees and shoots
leaves from its mouth, with a high amount of health, it is called Applesnapper.
World four-
(requires a total of 650 saved coins) World four is in a huge river,
which you have to swim through to get to the other side (obviously) the enemies
are big pike like fish surrounded by smaller ones that first attack you, then
the adult attacks you for destroying its babies, the weeds are like the grass
but they slash at you instead of grabbing, crabs come out from under the mud
and snap at you, the main boss is a giant pike fish named Watersnipper, who
shoots jets of high propelled bubbles, waves of waters and spins with its tail
to hit you and keep you away, it also has a high amount of health.
World Five- (requires a total of 850 save
coins) World five is a dusty deserted road splattered with bones and
shrivelling cacti, leading up to the final world, the main enemies are ‘cuter’
cattle skeletons, seemingly dead cacti, but they suddenly absorb water, come to
life, and shoot their spikes at you, along with blue scorpions that chase you
until you destroy them, they may even form groups if you don’t run, the main
boss is a giant black and red scorpion with three stingers to its tail, it
attacks by spraying poison with its tail, it also slams it three spikes at
different times like pillars and it also swipes it claws at you, its name is
Duskjaw, with a much higher amount of health.
World six- (requires a total of £1000 saved
coins and a key which is received after defeating Duskjaw, who was the key’s
keeper and also the Count’s right hand man) The final world, you have to travel
into the cave to find the dungeon and destroy the machine, saving Lady
Savingtons, the cave is barely lit, but you can create more light by throwing
coins at dying trees to ignite them with the sparks, but the main enemies are
missile launchers hidden in the walls by the Count, with rock slides created by
the Count, along with dinosaurs made of rocks and cyber mountain lions, the
main boss is obviously Count Poundula, his main attacks are shadow pulses,
darkness spikes that shoot at you from the floor and walls, along with thunder
clouds that electrocute and paralyze you for 5 seconds. He has the highest
amount of health in the game.
In the end, Baron Jingleton’s determination
and saving power saved his Lady and defeated the Count once again, so the peace
was restored and everyone went back to normal lives, once again saving was a
safe thing to do. But in his broken dungeon with his smashed machine without
the ability to save, the Count wondered if maybe he could just ask for help, or
maybe even try it for himself, no that was a cowards way out, he was not going
to stop until he was better than everyone and settle this rivalry, so he sat in
the dark planning his next devious plan.

Pac-man stuff
Creation
· Toru Iwatani, a Japanese programmer working for Namco, created pac-man. Taking the Japanese kanji symbol for mouth, which resembles a rounded square, and giving it a mouth to consume the pellets formed the Pac-man shape. The name itself comes from the Japanese phrase "pakku pakku taberu." "Pakku pakku" in Japanese is a sound indicating opening and closing your mouth quickly.
Development
· The development phase of Pac-man lasted about 18 months, as Iwatani, assisted by other Namco programmers, worked out the details of maze generation and ghost movement. Fruit was added to give a random element to the game that would encourage players to take risks and not simply follow a set pattern. Each of these details came together in the first Japanese release of the game, named Puck-Man, on May 22, 1980.
Success
The Japanese release met with only a lukewarm reception as shooting games such as Galaxian and Space Invaders were very popular at the time. The game was brought to America by Midway in 1981 and quickly rose in popularity and sales, overtaking even Space Invaders, which had been unrivaled until that point. The name Puck-Man was changed to Pac-man to avoid possible confusion with an English expletive.Friday, 25 May 2012
Le characters and back stories
Baron Jingleton- The baron is the hero of our story, he has a great gift; to be able to save hugely substantial amounts of money quickly, and not to mention his abilities to save the damsel in distress from evil. Although he's just a small one penny, he's got a big heart and a big appetite for adventure and saving!
Lady Savington- She's the apple of the Baron's eye, she's always been glamorous because of how much she can save, she's never short on change or short on generosity, although her kindness and her saving skills have made her a target for trouble so she is always in need of Baron Jingleton.
Count Poundula- He's always been jealous of the Lady's and the Barons skills, he can't save for toffee, so he kidnaps the Lady to try and steal her saving abilities for his own! He is always causing trouble but he's always stopped by the super saving power of Baron Jingleton.

Aviva savings thingies
Aviva offer a range of savings options available to everyone, each one is altered to suit every type of person. This encourages people to save because they know there will be a savings plan to suit them and/or their business or life style, so they don't have to feel afraid to save. Also the whole look and style of Aviva itself, clean, sophisticated, local and friendly makes people feel comfortable and like they are in safe hands when saving with Aviva. But so far, from what I've seen from their websites, they are aiming for a slightly older audience, they haven't really tried to appeal or even lean towards the younger audience (my age etc. which is about 14-20), they haven't offered anything for saving for things such as university or etc. so they haven't really made much effort on that front, but for the older generation (25 and over) they seem to really be trying. Like their adverts have older people in them, they haven't had a single advert with a younger person in it, as it were, so they don't really seem to even want to appeal to the younger people of this generation. To appeal to a certain groups and audiences, you would have that age group or things that appeal to them in your adverts. They offer things like Guarantees, investment bonds, ISAs, Base-Rate Trackers, with-profits investments etc. along with a wide range of insurances like life and car insurance. These types of insurance and things would not appeal or even attract the younger people, because they wouldn't need/or want it and they wouldn't be old enough to even start thinking about life insurance, they are definitely trying to appeal to the older audience By the look of the brand image, Aviva are leaning towards, perhaps the Norwich football colours, like Yellow and green, and the yellow stripe going the the right-ish center part is representing the Cathedral, but it is very much about Norwich.

My idea thingy
To be honest there really wasn't much thought behind my character apart from, I've made snakes before and they seemed to work well, and perhaps the colours are sort of something to talk about, they are primary and kind of work...maybe. but apart from that it was just spontaneous.
Well, first of all the review of my video (this will be fun) personally, I hate this video, I hate how the mouth works, it doesn't look like it's talking what so ever, I wish I didn't make the head move as it does, I don't like how the smaller snake in the corner is disintegrating, another thing I would change, I also don't like how I made the snakes look, the colour scheme doesn't work with the nature of snakes, the personality doesn't match the colours, or the back ground, overall it just doesn't work. But I think how I made the video was perhaps effective, I was efficient with how I worked off my exposure sheet, quickly making progress and finishing a single sheet with precision, but also getting it done quickly. But I had to make it lean on a rock made of felt because it kept tipping and falling over as I tried to make it talk, but I propped it up and hid the tilt with felt and made it look like it was in the habit which was being portrayed by the image in the back ground.
Random people's reviews
I think that this video is one of the best and most creative videos that has been created in the class this year.
-Keiran
-Connor
i think amber's animation is very unique, i really like it, i love the way how the eye comes out and the head spins around, i think she has made a great success!
I think amber's video is amazing in every possible way. the timing is perfect and the idea was creative
-Ben
I love the animation, Amber took a simple script and created a really creative peice. Instead of editing out mistakes in the audio she used them to add to the character and made the animation more fun and interesting, its great!

300 word examiner audience thing...(I wasn't intelligent enough to understand it fully I apologize)
I think (because the internet has provided nothing) an examiner audience is a ‘group’ or class of people who look at your work to mark, grade and essentially examine your work and make sure you are following the rules and regulations to get marked and not go out of context and break the rules. They are there to keep the regulations clear and grade you, so you don’t go too far. Like we did. Our film was totally out of context, appalling, shameful and disgusting, and I wish I never ever even attempted it, I am ashamed of myself and I feel totally embarrassed and humiliated and I cannot apologize enough for my awful behaviour that day, and feel free to remove me from the course. The examiner audience is a lot different to a younger audience, such as a teenage audience; the things that would amuse us would not amuse people in the examiner audience group, we need to have self control and a slight air of sophistication to fall within the guide lines of the examiners rules. Our video's intended audience was our age group, we used things which we would amuse or interest us, but, we did not take our actual audience into account and we got carried away, if we were to remake it and make it for the examiner audience, we would remove many, actually, we would re-make the entire video and have far better ideas, unlike our poor failure of a video we made before. We also cannot have anything inappropriate and we need to be sensible and do not ever repeat that awful thing we did last week. A parent audience is also different from both a examiner audience and a teenage audience, although it has to be appropriate, depend on the ideals and mind frame of the parents they could allow a little lee way on the ‘silliness’ while others could be rather strict, but on the whole, the content would have to be the same as the content for the examiner audience just so no one becomes offended or angry with the content of the film being shown and created. But on the whole any thing being created for an examiner audience would have to be careful of what content used, they would have to pitch it right, and make it abide by the rules and regulations of them and would have to change and removed any obscenities to make it suitable and appropriate.
New vid
This is our re-make for our other appauling video, which I am ashamed of and now wish I was dead, ahem, but moving away from that, our newest video is appropriate and we used my 'bloggie' named Kudari to film this due to the lack of cameras because of the people who used them before us, but we all had a huge moment of not being able to have ideas for about an hour, then we quickly got our video finished to a slightly better quuality, but I was the 'surpriser' and my job was to surprise Ben, I edited it using adobe premiere elements, as usual, changed it to quicktime and uploaded it. Overall I am happier with this outcome, I enjoyed scaring Ben, I think our idea went better with the theme, we all had better roles, it was easier because of the smaller group and we all knew what we were doing, unlike before where there was one who didn't have a clue (not mentioning names). And, well, overall I am pleased with the result, but like all my other projects I don't think my input was good, I should of done a lot more, and I should put more effort in and try harder, because even though Ben failed to scare me, I failed to make a contribution and should not be allowed on the course anymore.
